Sabotage – Vedergällning: Sabotage 2014-2024 (2xCD, Nonkonform Media, 2024)

Going strong for ten years now, Swedish powerhouse Sabotage has fired a total of seven releases at us in the past decade! The band’s discography is a nice range of 7”, 10” and 12” vinyl and even two superb split releases with respectively No Heart (Canada) and Codi De Silenci (Catalonia) saw the light of day. The only “problem” was that with the exception of 2015’s “Faderskap | Gråzonen” EP, all of Sabotage releases were only released on vinyl! Until now that is…

Because right before the release of Sabotage’s first ever full-length album “Urminnes Hävd” (more on that this winter!), the boys from Stockholm release the album “Vedergällning – Sabotage 2014-2024” on Nonkonform Media! The album includes the full discography of the Swedish skins, translating into a double CD featuring 26 songs total with a playtime of well over 100 minutes! A long run, but a killer one indeed!

Because whether you listen to early work such as “Färdiga Doktriner”, “Inget Tack” or Vid Vägens Slut” or some of the band’s latest work like “Gränsvakt” or “Rock Mot Globalismen”, you hear that exceptional quality Swedish bands have and that it’s also very consistent. Sabotage never released a mediocre track and this double CD unleashes the top of the Swedish crop, proving just that!

Now it’s easy for me to write this review. I am familiar with nearly all the work that’s presented on here and I fucking love this band. So despite if you own some, or even all, of the releases featured on this release it’s still a must-buy in my opinion because in all honesty – CD’s are just extremely handy. I still love and collect vinyl, but since I bought a proper CD-player earlier this year I am back into collecting CD’s as well as they’re much cheaper, you don’t have to flip them over all day long and quality-wise it obviously beats a stream, download or shitty vinyl pressing.

And if you like Sabotage – or Swedish Oi! in general – and don’t own a turntable this is an absolute no-brainer. Not only do you get some of the best skinhead rock that was released this past decade, but also 26 tracks in superb sound quality and an extensive booklet featuring all lyrics (with the exception of the Ultima Thule cover “Stolt Och Stark” as it has the original lyrics) and plenty of pictures! Get this now!
